VOLUNTEER WITH US!
There are many ways that you can serve as a SFJ Volunteer. We are grateful for those who partner with us in prayer but we are also extremely thankful for those who are able to help ease the burden of shipping the shoes to Africa. Each role is vital in the journey of these shoes and there are many roles (and shoes!) to fill. We welcome you to find your place in our SFJ family! Our mission will not be complete until every African child and youth has their own pair of soles; that’s why we are, “Changing lives, two by two!”
Warehouse Volunteer!
When a shipment of shoes arrives at our warehouse (from a shoe drive or retailer), we will schedule a “S.O.S. Date” which means that our team of volunteers will “Sort and Organize Shoes.” At times this will be a family event, where older children can jump in and help with small tasks (depending on the size of the shipment and the work that needs to be done.) Shoes will also be packed in preparation for overseas shipment. Email Sherry Mahnke, Director of Volunteers & State Reps, to have your name added to our list of Warehouse Volunteers.
Host a Shoe Drive!
See area on website for How to Host a Shoe Drive. You can also send your own donations from your home, if you are unable to do a drive. Any amount of shoes, great or small, will make a difference!
Support a Shipment of Shoes to Africa!
Become a SFJ Donor by contributing funds towards the shipping costs involved in sending the shoes to Africa! Without generous donations from those who are able to partner with us, we would be unable to put the shoes on the feet of these African children who need it most.
Become the SFJ Rep for your state!
SFJ is looking for a representative from each state within the US to join our team. A "SFJ State Rep" is a contact person who is fully informed on what SFJ does and stands for. This individual is available as a resource for someone within their state to call; like a referral. Prayerfully consider if this is how you can get involved, if there is not a representative for your state. We'd love to meet you!

Host a “Barefoot Event” with your group or church!
Advertise your event in advance and roll out the red carpet! Prepare students, kids or your entire church family to show up for this special service or event without shoes. Add a red carpet to your main entrance to add some excitement, along with a photographer capturing guests as they arrive. Be sure to share your pictures and events with us, so we can add you to our SFJ Photo Gallery. Participants are encouraged to bring along their shoe donations on this date. This is a fun way to involve all ages, as kids, teens and adults will realize how it feels to live for a few hours without shoes. (*A Barefoot Event can also be advertised along with your shoe drive, as the kick-off or closing date of your drive.)
Help Spread the Word!
Be creative and think of your own way to make a difference with SFJ! We are always open to those who are passionate and want to make a difference. Take a few moments and ask the Lord what He would have you do. There is surely a place for you to get involved and become a part of our SFJ family.
